• Chapter 5 – Forming a Government
• Chapter 6 – Citizenship and the Constitution
• Chapter 7 – Launching the Nation

Unit Three:
• Chapter 8 – The Jefferson Era
• Chapter 9 – A New National Identity
• Chapter 10 – The Age of Jefferson
• Chapter 11 – Expanding West

Unit Four:
• Chapter 12 – The North
• Chapter 13 – The South
• Chapter 14 – New Movements in America
• Chapter 15 – A Divided Nation

Unit Five:
• Chapter 16 – The Civil War
• Chapter 17 – Reconstruction

Organization:
Students are expected to keep up with all information given in a one-inch, 3-ring binder with pockets. The notebook setup below will help in students’ organization and it is up to the student to make sure that their notebook is kept up-to-date and neat.

Notebook Setup:
1. Bellwork
2. Notes
3. Vocabulary
4. Homework/ Classwork
5. Returned/ Graded Work

Grading:
Grades are broken down into three categories:

Daily: 50%
Tests: 40%
Homework: 10%

Homework will be given at various times throughout the school year. Projects will also be done throughout the year and will be graded as one of the three categories.
